Red Sox center fielder and Hall of Famer David Ortiz is scheduled to be inducted into the Boston Red Sox Hall of Heroes in a ceremony on Tuesday, sources confirmed to ESPN’s Buster Olney.
The Red Sox and Rangers are working on a deal for the Hall of Famers to be honored at the game, which will be televised live on Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2, according to a person familiar with the negotiations.
The Hall of Honor is the most prestigious honor in baseball.
The players, coaches, managers and executives are given a formal invitation to be enshrined at the ballpark.
